Nikolay Kazanskiy, Managing Partner of Colliers International Russia, will be moderating the panel discussion “Investment in the Regions: Has Investor Interest Waned?” as part of the V Financial Forum on Commercial Real Estate on February 27 at the Lotte Hotel in Moscow. The business forum is organized by the news and analysis portal Arendator.ru and the general partner of the event is Sberbank.
The Finance Forum on Commercial Real Estate has been held annually since 2007, bringing together the market’s leaders – international and Russian investors, representatives of leading developers, banks and government bodies. More than 200 top executives are expected to take part in the event. This year the forum is supported by Sberbank. The key discussion topics are public-private partnership, infrastructure projects, reorganization of industrial zones and regional investment, among others.

During the panel discussion “Investment in the Regions: Has Investor Interest Waned?” Nikolay Kazanskiy together with leading market players (including VTB-Development, EBRD, Jenson Group, Hines and others) will discuss such important issues as insurance of commercial properties, investment in the regions, the investment climate in St. Petersburg, etc. The participants of the discussion will include government representatives, bankers, heads of development and construction companies, Russian and foreign investors, as well as property owners.

Confirmed speakers of the panel discussion: Linar Yakupov, Chief Executive, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency; Alexander Smekalin, Minister of Strategic Development and Innovation, Ulyanovsk Region; Denis Butsayev, Minister for Investment and Innovations, Moscow Region; Alexander Olkhovsky, Vice-President, VTB-Development; Leila Urasbaeva, Senior Banker, Real Estate and Tourism Department, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; Alexander Voloshin, Director of Investment Projects, Jensen Group; and many others.

Nikolay Kazanskiy, Managing Partner, Colliers International Russia: “Right now the Russian commercial real estate market remains one of the most attractive markets for investors in Eastern Europe. Despite the mixed forecasts for the Russian economy and the increasingly pessimistic outlook for future growth, institutional investors are confidently acquiring quality assets. This trend once again demonstrates the weak connection between the real estate market and pessimistic economic forecasts. And this year we expect to see new international companies entering the market.”
