As one of the city government’s official partners, Colliers provided expertise by serving as the project’s operations consultant.
Led by Manila mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, the city government’s public housing project located in the Tondo District welcomed its first residents. Dubbed “Tondominium,” the condo development has two 15-storey towers, each offering 168 two-bedroom units.
Colliers, through its Real Estate Management Services (REMS) division led by Executive Director Jet Ilaga, has been tapped by the Manila city government to provide technical expertise for its urban housing initiatives. According to Ilaga, Colliers will provide advisory and consultancy service on the preparation of the project’s Quality Management System, Manuals and Processes of Operation, and Preventive Maintenance.
Tondominium is Manila’s second public-housing project that has been turned over. In July 2021, the city launched Basecommunity, a townhouse-type development located in the BASECO area. A third project is also in the pipeline dubbed Binondominium, which is located in Binondo District.
“Similar with Basecommunity, the Colliers team will meet with the new residents of Tondominium for ownership orientation,” said Ilaga. “Our team is pleased to work with the new homeowners to educate them on property-management best practices to preserve the property’s integrity and usability.”
Colliers’ expertise in REMS encompasses a wide range of property types, from high-end condos, premium office towers, and gated communities, to industrial facilities and even leisure complexes. As of 2022, the company manages more than 80 buildings and facilities across the Philippines with a gross floor space of more than 4 million square meters.
According to Ilaga, Colliers is proud to be part of this initiative, a brainchild of Manila’s dynamic, young mayor. “It is with these bold steps that help spur change and help uplift the lives of our fellow Filipinos, and we at Colliers are very pleased that the Manila city government has asked us to be part of this project.”
