In Focus | Maximo Figurasin III, Negotiator, Office Services – Landlord Representation, Colliers Philippines

For Maximo Figurasin III, having synergy with one’s teammates is key to successfully closing transactions.

1. What led you to a career in real estate?

I actually wanted to go into law. I had a down time after college so I decided to go into residential sales. After some time I became part of Colliers’ Landlord Representation team. I saw that real estate is for me and I am looking forward to grow and learn more about this industry in the future.

2. What are the soft skills you value most as a real estate professional and why?

Teamwork and communication. As a real estate professional, for me having the synergy to work with your colleagues is the most valuable. Helping each other with the tasks at hand in order to successfully close a transaction would ensure that deals will run smoothly. With regards to communication, we have to ensure that we share our thoughts and advice to our landlords and clients.

3. What advice would you give to someone who aspires for a career in real estate?

My advice is to make sure to do research before entering this field. Get the lowdown on the real estate market and make sure to have the passion to be the best in the industry.

4. What’s the best compliment you have gotten from a client?

When a client told me that they are looking to collaborate with me again in the future. They appreciated the service that I was able to provide and this gave me the continuous drive that I have now to further assist my other clients.

5. Who would you trade places with for a day?

I wouldn’t trade places with anyone. I am contented at where I am now and I am looking forward to be successful and to be the best version of myself.
