In Focus: Doris Aguirre, Operations Manager, Philippines

With her inspiring tenure in the company, Colliers Philippines’ Operations Manager Doris Aguirre shares her experience, her outlook on workplace operations and her advice to newcomers in the company.

1. In one word, how would you describe your experience with Colliers and why?

It's been a rollercoaster. I have been with the company for 2 decades and I've seen the company struggle at its lowest and rise to its peak. And now, I'm glad to see we're steadily growing.

2.  What is the most interesting and challenging part of your job and why?

Prior to my current position,  I joined the company way back 1996 as a Researcher under Research and Consultancy. Two years later, I was transferred to HR & Admin. Having said that, I believe that the most challenging part of my job - as a team servicing the administrative needs of the company as whole - is managing and satisfying the expectations of all the divisions.

3. Do you think office management is important to efficiency in the workplace and why?

Yes. I believe that a well-managed and well-designed work place environment is crucial to ensuring an efficient and productive workplace. I think it helps people focus more on their work and perform at their best.

4. What advice would you give someone new in Colliers?

For the new hires, I would say that joining the company is a very wise decision. As a new member of the company, my advice is: learn, be open to new experiences and welcome to the best rollercoaster ride of your career.

5. If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?

I would compare myself to a cat because I am a cat lover. – meow meow
