This summer, a new phase will begin in the redevelopment of the old post office of Rotterdam on the Coolsingel. Omnam Group will give the go-ahead for the construction of the 155-meter high residential tower that will become part of the iconic building.
The POST tower will have 43 floors and 305 apartments. Private individuals bought 102 homes and the remaining 203 by Amvest for rent. The residents of the apartments are all allowed to use the roof terrace of 160 sqm. Colliers advised Omnam in the sales process for the residential tower.
In addition to the residential tower, there will also be a hotel, shops and catering facilities in the former post palace. After more than thirteen years of vacancy, this brings back life to the historic building that survived the bombing of the city. The 98-year-old building will be rebuilt into a hotel from the summer. In the courtyard there will be an 18-meter high concrete foundation on which the residential tower will be placed. In 2023, the tower will reach its highest and will be clearly visible in the city. Completion of the entire project is scheduled for 2024.
