COD and Amvest acquire MegaStores The Hague

The development combination of COD and Amvest have acquired shopping centre MegaStores The Hague from HS-Retail. The property comprises over 80,000 square meters of shopping, FB, leisure and approx. 1,800 parking spaces. With this transaction the opportunity arises for COD and Amvest to add residential dwellings to the site. The current tenant mix is a combination of living, convenience stores and F&B such as De Mandemakers Groep, Blokker, Kruidvat, BCC, Leenbakker, Kwantum, Aldi, La Place en Jump XL.

COD and Amvest aim to re-develop the shopping centre, the (direct) surroundings are in transition. The re-development will respond to this transition by focussing on a strong tenant mix taking into account the both regional and local function of MegaStores. The development combination also aims to add residential dwellings to the site. The realisation of residential space at the shopping centre will be from positive influence on the shopping centre itself. The property is centrally located in the Laak district in vicinity of train station The Hague HS which is ideal for both visitors of the shopping centre as residents.

Colliers International acted as commercial advisor on the sale-side, Savills IM as asset manager and Linklaters was the legal advisor. On the buy-side JLL acted as commercial advisor and CMS as legal advisor.
