Exploitation Hotel Vondel sold to Catalonia Hotels & Resorts

Vondel Hotels Collection sold the exploitation of Hotel Vondel and its restaurant JOOST in Amsterdam to Catalonia Hotels & Resorts. The building at Vondelstraat 18-26 remains the property of Deka Immobilien.

The four star hotel in the historical center of the city will be renamed to Catalonia Hotel Vondel Amsterdam. It consists of seven monumental buildings next to Vondelpark and Leidseplein. The hotel has a restaurant, breakfast area, meeting room, cocktail bar and internet corner. All employees can continue their work.

Hotel Vondel was the first hotel of the Vondel Hotels Collection and is now sold after 16 years of ownership. Arjen van den Hof, owner of Vondel Hotels: “This strategic decision gives Vondel Hotels Collection the opportunity to continue what we like to do and to reshape our portfolio for future projects and new activities.”

This acquisition is part of Catalonia Hotels & Resorts’ European expansion strategy. Guillermo Vallet Millet, vice-president of Catalonia: ‘The opening of this hotel and future hotels in Porto, Milan and Budapest, show our determination to continue our growth with a clear strategy aimed at quality instead of quantity’.

Colliers International advised Vondel Hotels Collection during the sales process.
