Is the Baltics in line with the new trend?
Environmental impact from the real estate and construction industry is massive as according to United Nations Environment Report buildings and construction together account for 36% of global energy use and 39% of energy related CO2 emissions. Globally sustainability is a hot topic, while in the Baltics the first certificates were acquired only 5 years ago and amount of certified buildings is still low. International market players operating or entering the Baltics bring higher standards that leads to relatively high certification activity in development market.
