Doing what’s right for our clients to accelerate their success is a core value at Colliers and what I strive to accomplish at work every day. As a part of the Tenant Representation team, it is important to genuinely care about our clients’ needs and goals. Whether it is looking for a new space or restructuring a current space, I would always put our clients’ interests first to secure the best possible deals for them. We are not only a strategic partner to our clients, but also the ultimate real estate guide. My personal mantra is: “Colliers only succeeds if our clients succeed!”.


  • How long have you been in the real estate industry, and how did you come to join Colliers?

I have been in the real estate industry for almost three years but only joined Colliers’ Global Tenant Representation team last year. I started my career as a consultant at one of the competitor firms. At that time, my work scope was limited to just retail properties and I had wanted to have more exposure to other types of commercial real estate to learn more. It was fortunate that my current team leader reached out to me and offered me the opportunity to join his team. I joined the team as an assistant manager and I now have the opportunity to work on many exciting projects related to office and industrial properties, providing transaction advisory services to multinational corporations and local companies who manage their assets overseas.

 

 

  • What has been your greatest accomplishment so far at Colliers?
    One of the greatest accomplishments was to define and achieve optimal strategies for our clients, together with my team. Mapping out a complete location strategy is not a simple process, but it is indeed rewarding whenever we successfully execute an effective strategy for our clients. Some may think that real estate transactions and lease management are not the core of our business. This is hardly true, as these areas of business have a significant impact on our brand identity, talent pools, productivity, as well as relationships with partners and clients. Moreover, critical financial damage to clients could also occur if the location strategy is unsound and lease management is not properly executed. Our team has a deep understanding of the importance of identifying strategic locations, and we treat every project as a unique project. We take a pragmatic approach to evaluating the current needs and desires of our clients and provide them with comprehensive strategic advice on this long-term commitment, which will improve their business competitiveness in the future.

 

  • What is it about real estate that interests you, and why? 
    I was fascinated by real estate because it kept me learning. Real estate is complex by nature and cannot be interpreted with only numbers. It requires diverse knowledge in market trends, finance, economics, human environment, regulatory policies. I love the fact that I am learning new things every day at work and this motivates me to become a highly capable real estate expert. Also, through providing transaction advisory services, I have the opportunity to work with a lot of multinational corporations in various sectors. It is always interesting to witness how the future of work is evolving and how certain corporations and industries are developing as the world moves forward!
