I think that the results-oriented culture at Colliers, where you can explore your own unique ways to achieve results and have them evaluated, is a distinctive feature of the company.
Meet Tatsuya Yokoyama, a facility strategy expert with 17 years of experience in office leasing brokerage.
Why do you work at Colliers?
There are two main reasons why I work at Colliers.
The first is that the enterprising culture is a good fit for me. I think that the results-oriented culture at Colliers, where you can explore your own unique ways to achieve results and have them evaluated, is a distinctive feature of the company.
Secondly, we are not only able to provide our clients with relocation proposals, but also a wide range of consulting services in cooperation with other departments. For example, we propose and consult on layout changes according to various working styles, how and where people work continue to evolve.
In addition, we can deal with global clients and engage in large-scale projects because of the globally large scale of the company.
Please briefly explain what Occupier Services is.
I am responsible for office leasing brokerage. This service provides building tenants with advice on office relocation, contract renewal and re-signing, office layout changes, and workplace consulting. Nowadays, how and where people work is evolving, and hybrid work models are becoming mainstream. We listen carefully to each company's policies and try to advise them on better facility strategies.
What is a typical day like for you?
I have 3-4 appointments daily for meetings with building owners and business meetings with tenants.
With landlords, I conduct hearings on the offering conditions for each building and exchange information on the market in general. With tenants, I make proposals for office buildings and relocations, and provide office tours.
After that, I return to the office to prepare proposal materials for the next day and schedule more appointments.
What are your passions outside of Colliers?
I enjoy playing with my four-year-old daughter. We play soccer together. She will probably play for Nadeshiko Japan (Japan Women's National Soccer Team) in the future.
