Colliers REMS and Sportium signed a partnership aimed at the management and planning of areas dedicated to sport

Milan, July 27 2020 – Promoting urban regeneration and fostering social cohesion through the redevelopment and design of new spaces dedicated to sport: this is the common objective underlying the strategic partnership that Colliers REMS - Company specializing in Real Estate Management Services, part of the Colliers International network - has signed with Sportium - company specializing in integrated design of sports facilities, part of CMR Project Group, already committed in the realization of the new Cagliari Stadium and in "Gli Anelli di Milano" project for the design of the new Milan Stadium, which is currently on shortlist and being evaluated by AC Milan and FC Internazionale Clubs.

The agreement - whose scope of work extends nationwide - comprises two specific areas of interest, both focusing on the development of sports facilities acting as drivers for urban regeneration and as multi-purpose community venues at community disposal. More specifically, Colliers REMS will be responsible for the Development and Project & Construction Management activities of Sportium, which in the future might be combined with further international advisory activities.

The partnership foresees the discovery of new opportunities to transform public and private spaces by designing facilities dedicated to sport (including stadiums, arenas, multipurpose halls, sports centres, etc.) as areas having a strong impact on society, gathering passions and relationships, with a crucial role in transforming territories. On the other hand, the merger between the technical, commercial and strategic skills of Colliers' approach and the extensive design experience of Sportium, will offer football clubs and sports associations a comprehensive real estate offer that will support them along the challenging renovation/design journey of their sports facilities.

"We are thrilled by this partnership, as it will combine our proven expertise in urban regeneration with Sportium's know-how in the design and redevelopment of sports facilities. Sport has always been a driver promoting unity and values - said Roberto Nicosia, CEO of Colliers International Italia - and we believe that the "temples" in which it can be practiced, in all its forms and expressions, if properly rethought, can offer important business opportunities and strategic growth for neighborhoods and communities".

Massimo Roj, Ad and Co-Founder of Progetto CMR underlined: "We are proud to sign this partnership with Colliers: a highly qualified and solid company with which we share the common vision of making sport design a driving force for urban and social regeneration. Following the acquisition of Studio De Martino, this is an agreement that further reinforces Sportium's mission, namely to offer the Italian market an innovative and integrated service that combines design, construction and development of sports facilities, enhancing the efficiency - economic, environmental and social - of every design initiative".
