The excellent industry reputation of Colliers' Capital Markets team motivated me to come back and make a career shift from Valuations.
What prompted you to come back to Colliers?
I started my professional career with the Colliers Valuation team in 2016 after completing my post-graduation from NICMAR. I couldn’t have asked for a better team and company to begin my career with - learning core fundamentals and ethics from industry veterans and growing in the most encouraging and supportive environment sure feels amazing. Naturally, after seeing multiple facets of the industry from Valuation to Consulting, a shift to Capital Markets seemed but a natural career advancement. Also, the CMIS team members had an excellent industry reputation, not only as industry stalwarts but also as a great team to work with.
Shifting back to the home turf was an easy transition because of the many familiar faces and warm environment. And the CMIS team’s welcoming and inclusive nature was just the perfect cherry on the top!
Colliers for me was always a ‘Great place to work’. Undoubtedly, that has remained intact. With the new teams joining in, I see a new vigour and zeal towards driving the business and reinvigorating the brand name. And with new clients and talent coming in, market sentiments have reflected the business development efforts of the leadership team.
What difference do you see yourself making in the transactions business?
As a part of the CMIS team, I have grown from being an analyst to being able to take ownership and offer value-added services to the clients. There’s still a long way to go but the team allows me take up new responsibilities, make mistakes and learn from them. I have got the opportunity to work on large ticket transactions, interact with clients, and gain an understanding of the industry from a new perspective, all of which have led to tremendous learning and insight.
How do you foresee Colliers' growth in the next 3 years?
Considering the current growth rate, and the zeal to establish the brand, I see Colliers being among the top three IPC’s in the next three years, growing leaps and bounds and being at the epicentre of all major real estate activity in the country!
