Appaya is a well experienced and highly capable Human Resource professional, with over 28 years’ industry experience in India and Africa. As Head - Human Resource, he is responsible for HR administrative duties, collaboration across regions, recruitment & selection and on-boarding & induction. He also provides support to the office administration teams across regions.

Having worked with various enterprises across multiple geographies, Appaya has managed and lead teams to drive people management and implementation of HR strategies on continual improvement basis while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.


Appaya has been instrumental in developing and implementation human resource policies, processes and procedures to suit the business requirements. In this role, Appaya partners with regional heads to drive strategy on HR core functions including talent acquisition, talent management, compensation and benefits, and HR operations. He ensures adherence to policies and systems - Leave management, medical insurance, reimbursement, performance appraisals etc. He helped design and implement online HRMS, and digitalizing employee data.


Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (BCom)



In his previous role with the Wadia Group (The Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation), Appaya worked in the plantation division for 18 years, involving people management, operation plans, cost analysis, Quality standards and certification compliance based on market requirement.  Also did a stint in marketing, focus being on exports. He holds a certification in Bio Dynamics and HACCP.
