Multiple earthquakes, including a powerful and shallow 7-magnitude tremor, struck Lombok in July and August. The earthquakes were also felt on the neighboring resort island of Bali, but there were no reports of damage. The tourism sector in Bali has been quite stable thus far. The summer holiday and school holiday have underpinned the tourism market in the island. The number of inbound tourists is quite consistent in maintaining the overall hotel occupancy in Bali. The island will continue to host several big national and international events, mainly in Q4 2018.
