More inbound arrivals make short-term outlook enticing
The opening of international gates has positively impacted Bali tourism. Although the increase in the number of flights has not been significant, it has at least allowed the tourism industry to start moving forward. The reviewed quarter occupancy and hotel rate edged up, catching up with their performance before the Covid-19 outbreak. Backed up with several international and national events, the tourism industry will likely gain traction going forward. We expect to see a gradual improvement in hotel performance in the second half of this year.
Having said that, hoteliers will still need to put great effort before recovery, because the pandemic had severely hit tourism. As the pandemic is slowly easing up and transitioning to a more normal state, hoteliers need to wisely implement the most appropriate strategy that relates to operating costs.
