Hospitality 1536x1040

The hospitality industry in Bali started the year with weak performance, with both occupancy and hotel room tariff below the historical standard. With an abundance of room stock and limited number of inbound visitors, hoteliers had no option but to survive the pandemic. Hoteliers poured discounts and other promotions into the market. Nonetheless, the result was still insignificant. This industry definitely needs to see more people coming into the area – and Covid-19 vaccines will help the industry rebuild confidence in travel and entice tourists back to the struggling holiday hotspot.

There are still a couple of months remaining before the government’s plan to allow inflow of foreign tourists in July. This could be utilised for hotel renovation/rejuvenation before full operations resume.
