Vedrana Likan, Managing Partner at Colliers, is the winner of this year's Female Business Leader award given by Emerging Europe, an organization dedicated to the development of 23 countries from Central through Eastern Europe to the Southern Caucasus. The Emerging Europe Awards celebrate these countries' achievements in sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship. Vedrana Likan received the award at a grand awards ceremony in Brussels.
The Female Business Leader Award is given to women in leadership positions who have made significant and inspiring contributions to their organizations in the past year. The award especially values leaders who encourage other women to develop their careers and who are mentors to a new generation of leaders in the business world.
This year, 17 successful business women were nominated for the award, and the winner was decided by the votes of the jury and the audience. The jury pointed out that our Managing Partner was awarded for her long-term commitment to promoting positive social change and the systematic empowerment of women in the business world.
"For men, taking the lead usually evokes a sense of power, and for women a sense of responsibility. Most female leaders share the traits of empathy, togetherness, and courage. The success of a woman leader is never solely her personal merit. It is the result of the whole team. It is the leader's responsibility to focus her charisma and energy, adhering to moral and ethical values, on the right things in order to participate in positive social changes, "said Vedrana Likan.
In order to encourage other women to take leading positions, Vedrana Likan is organizing a LeaderSHE conference in Zagreb on Thursday, June 30, 2022. It is a conference that will bring together leaders from the Croatian business world, politics and the non-governmental sector.
