Colliers International’s Retail Development team has secured new premises in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, for wine merchant, Laithwaite’s Wine. The new store will be the company’s northern flagship site and is the 14th store opened by this growing ‘clicks to bricks’ business.
Located in a prominent position on South Street in the heart of the prestigious village of Alderley Edge, the new 2,165 sq ft store will be divided between a retail shop and event space. The new store will stock over 400 different wines, beers and spirits and boasts an event space with fully fitted catering kitchen, which can be hired out for private events.
Helen McEvoy, Retail Director for Laithwaite's Wine said: "We know we have a strong and loyal customer base in this area, having hosted events in Manchester for a decade and from delivering mail order wines to thousands of customers in the Cheshire golden triangle. Our new store will offer our loyal customer base the chance to expand their Laithwaite's experience, from offering them the opportunity to try new wines free of charge, to fulfilling their orders via a free click and collect service and most excitingly, offering them a range of events to attend in our new event space."
Tom Glynn, Associate Director from Colliers International, who advised Laithwaite’s on the deal, added: “We are continuing the see the ‘clicks to bricks’ trend in the retail sector whereby successful online businesses are making the transition to physical retail space, and Laithwaite’s is a prime example of a business that is doing just that.”
This is the second deal that Colliers International has completed for Laithwaite’s this year – the first being the acquisition of a store in West Bridgford in Nottingham which opened in April 2017.
