Colliers International today announced the appointment of three senior executives – Ms Stella Hoh (何春燕), Ms Quek Soh Hoon (郭素云)and Mr Harvey Chia (谢 绍辉)to its investment services business in Singapore.

Mr Dennis Yeo (杨焕杰), Interim Chief Executive Officer | Asia and Managing Director of Colliers International Singapore says, “Investment sales has always been a core business in Colliers and the firm will not hesitate to invest in resources to grow this business.”

“For instance, when the investment scene in key markets like China, Hong Kong and Singapore was crippled by government curbs and policy changes, we had anticipated that institutional as well as private investors could look beyond their local market for investment opportunities with better risks and returns. Colliers was one of the first to regionalise and institutionalise our investment advisory business to serve the interest of our clients. We invested in the business and appointed Terence Tang, a veteran in the real estate investment market to lead this integrated regional business. We have been successful in assisting our clients make informed decisions and act swiftly to seize opportunities in various markets,” adds Mr Yeo.      

The trio are partners at Land Empire, a boutique investment company that specialises in collective sales, land sales, commercial investments and the sale of Good Class Bungalows. One prominent transaction concluded by the team is the trustee sale of a Good Class Bungalow land parcel at No. 4 Jalan Asuhan for S$54.186 million.

Ms Hoh, a known investment professional with 17 years of related experience is appointed an Executive Director and will assume the role of Head of Investment Services. Apart from leading the nine-member investment services team in Singapore, Ms Hoh will also take on the key role as one of the members of Colliers’ Asia Capital Markets & Investment Services group, which is headed by Mr Terence Tang, Managing Director, Capital Markets & Investment Services | Asia. The group comprises highly experienced senior investment professionals in different regions, providing both institutional and private investors an integrated service offering and well thought-out solutions for their inter-regional as well as across-the-region investments. 

She will report to Mr Dennis Yeo, Interim CEO | Asia and Managing Director of Colliers International Singapore.

Prior to setting up Land Empire, Ms Hoh was with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) for more than 10 years and headed its Investment Department. During her stint at JLL, she was involved in several major investment transactions worth some S$10 billion. These include the sale of 1 and 3 Phillip Street, Clementi Mall, Commerce Point, One Finlayson Green, the collective sale of Katong Mall, Paramount Hotel and Shopping Centre, Dragon Mansion and Tai Keng Court, among others.

Ms Hoh holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons) in Estate Management from National University of Singapore.

Ms Quek Soh Hoon is also appointed as an Executive Director and apart from focusing on the local investment market, she will also work with the Asia Capital Markets and Investment Services group. She has 18 years of real estate experience. Prior to setting up Land Empire, she was head of Commercial Investments with JLL where she played an instrumental role in the inception and negotiation of numerous transactions that were in excess of S$13 billion. She handled the collective sales of Tai Keng Court, Char Yong Gardens, Kim Seng Plaza, and the Paramount Hotel and Shopping Centre as well as several Good Class Bungalows, commercial, industrial and hotel development sites such as Commerce Point, Great Eastern Hotel, One Finlayson Green and 1 Philip Street, among others.

Mr Harvey Chia is appointed Director of Investment Services. He has nine years of real estate experience and was with Citi Private Bank’s real estate investment team where he provided dedicated real estate advisory services – including investment strategies and the sale of private equity funds to high net worth clients, before joining Land Empire. He also spent five years at JLL in the Investment Department where he was involved in the sale of Katong Mall – the first commercial collective sale in Singapore. His other notable investment transactions include the sale of a HDB site currently occupied by Clementi Mall as well as a row of shop houses on Upper Bukit Timah Road.

“The extensive combined experience of Stella, Soh Hoon and Harvey will contribute to and further strengthen the existing investment team. With the new additions, Colliers will take on more appointments and grow our investment business. In addition, I believe the three of them will bring a fresh perspective to the business,” says Mr Yeo.   

The above appointments will take effect on 4 November 2014.
