Guiding you through the lease renewal process
We provide representation to investors and occupiers in the negotiation of lease renewals and lease restructures. Our experienced team advises throughout the complex lease renewal process of protected tenancies (Landlord and Tenant Act 1954), unprotected tenancies and licences. We liaise with your legal advisors from the initial service of formal notices through to completion of documentation.
Accurate cost projections
We provide budgets and projected outcomes for single properties or corporate portfolios, either on a ‘desktop’ basis or following full inspections. Our access to data and the market knowledge within our lease advisory, brokerage, and valuation teams means that we can respond quickly and accurately to client requests.
Dispute resolution advice
Our team are appointed as an Expert Witness in references to arbitrators, independent experts and court proceedings. In the event a settlement cannot be negotiated, we are highly experienced in the referral of rent review disputes to either arbitration or independent experts. We have a detailed knowledge of the statutory framework provided by the Arbitration Act 1996 and of the procedural instructions required by independent experts.

With a team of experts based across the UK providing national coverage, we are retained on over 700 properties by a variety of local and national trade counter operators. I am a Chartered Surveyor and a lease advisory specialist and lead the Business Space Lease Advisory team at Colliers. My team specialises in the industrial, logistics and offices market sectors. We advise investors and occupiers on rent reviews, lease renewals and lease renegotiations. My role is to achieve the best possible value and outcomes for clients in negotiations.
I've worked as a specialist in the lease advisory sector since leaving university in 1995 and I joined Colliers in 1998. I have advised clients on most types of properties across the UK and now specialise in the logistics and offices market sectors in London, East Midlands and the South East.
I advise both occupiers and investors in negotiations and I am regularly appointed as an Expert Witness in dispute resolution cases.
I have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Land Management and a Diploma in Arbitration from Reading University. I am a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Registered Valuer and a Member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. I qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1992 and have always worked within the private sector. I have a broad range of experience working for many years as a General Practice Chartered Surveyor dealing with professional work, valuations and agency. I have specialised in Commercial Lease Consultancy since 2004 acting for owners and occupiers on industrial/warehouse, office and retail property. I undertake rent reviews, lease renewals and regears on a daily basis. I also have extensive experience acting as Expert Witness at Arbitration/Independent Expert referrals.
Damian is a Director and head of the Business Space Lease Advisory team in the North. He has extensive experience in advising clients in the specialist fields of rent reviews, lease renewals and lease restructuring whilst also providing Expert Witness representation in Arbitration proceedings, Independent Expert Determinations and in Court on 1954 Act lease renewals. Damian specialises in the office and industrial/logistics section and has dealt with a number of large office buildings and big box logistic warehouses. His previous client's include high profile occupiers, property companies and institutional investors.
Amy is an Associate Director and head of the Business Space Lease Advisory team in the South West.
She regularly advises occupier and investor clients on lease renewals, rent reviews and lease restructuring. She is also experienced in third party dispute resolution for both rent reviews and lease renewals (via Professional Arbitration on Court Terms).
Amy is adept in identifying opportunities to realise value from her clients existing leases – either by lease extension or negotiating an early surrender depending on her client’s specific business requirements.
