Working principally in the capital markets in healthcare transactions, overseeing deals with lot sizes of between £5m and £300m for both operational businesses and investment sales. Also providing strategic portfolio and real estate advice, exit strategies and portfolio valuations for a number of the largest care providers and healthcare funds both in the UK and Europe.

Having completed a Master's degree at the London School of Economics Max started work in the commercial property sector and for most of his career has specialised in the Healthcare sector, working first for Inventures, a consultancy division of the UK Department of Health and since 2004 for Colliers International. Max become a Director in 2007. Max is involved in providing strategic advise to healthcare operator's in terms of their growth strategies; reviewing and advising on healthcare developments; carrying out valuations and due diligence or trading healthcare and education properties; carrying out structured fundraising plans; and providing transactional advisory advise to healthcare clients.
In 1987 I joined a national firm of Business Transfer Agents in Leeds as a Valuer/Negotiator and my duties involved valuing mainly retail businesses as going concerns. I commenced working with an associate company in 1990 and carried out valuations for bank lending purposes of various types of businesses, including healthcare, leisure and retail. I started working for a rival firm in 1992 as a business valuer and, whilst valuations of many different types of businesses were carried out, healthcare became my speciality. This work included the valuation and appraisal of nursing homes, residential care homes, private hospitals, supported living facilities, care villages and day nurseries.
I joined Colliers in June 2008 as a Director in the Healthcare Department. I specialise in the valuation and appraisal of healthcare properties from single asset to major corporate portfolio instructions. Recent valuation work includes Select Healthcare, Springcare Group, Wellburn Group, Target and many others.
Director & Head of Debt Advisory
As Head of Debt Advisory, Ben is responsible for advising Colliers UK and European Clients on Real Estate debt facilities that delivers enhanced returns, more efficient structures and a greater connectivity to the financial markets.
With 20 years’ experience within the Structured Finance & Real Estate Banking sector, Ben established ALC in 2013, a specialist Real Estate Debt Advisory business, the team then joined Colliers in 2018. He previously worked for Standard Chartered, National Australia Bank and RBS in various Real Estate roles.
Ben has extensive experience in the arrangement and monitoring of Real Estate credit structures across the capital stack and asset classes. This includes senior, whole and mezz loans, with facilities arranged from several million to several hundred million.
The team work with over 240 global credit funders, from banks to debt funds to opportunistic Family Offices. As a single point of contact, Ben and his team are able to reduce execution risk, improve clients IRR and Cash on Cash Yields whilst striving to deliver an outstanding client experience.

I qualified as a chartered surveyor whilst working for a local surveying practice in Croydon. I was subsequently employed by CBRE as part of their property management department and was then approached by Colliers CRE to join their Investment Property Management team, which I did in 2003. I subsequently joined the Healthcare team of Colliers International, where I have worked since 2005 / 2006
Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh
Liam joined Colliers International in April 2019 and is a Chartered Valuation Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer within the Healthcare Team in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Leeds providing Valuation and Advisory Services across the whole of the UK.
Liam specialises in Valuation and Agency advice to operators, investors and lenders for loan security, acquisitions and disposals across the Healthcare Sector in England, Scotland and Wales, with specific experience in Long Term (Elderly and Specialist) Care Facilities including, Care Homes, Nursing Homes, Children’s Homes and Homes providing care to Service Users with Mental Health Issues and Learning Disabilities. Liam also has experience of providing valuation advice in relation to Children's Day Nurseries and Primary Care Facilities.

I joined Colliers International in March 2019 as a Personal Assistant in the Healthcare Department.
I assist to all the Surveyors and Directors on the team, providing secretarial and administrative support and maintaining information with regards to all projects carried out by each member. Clients include corporate and private operators, banks, investors, developers, charitable organisations and local authorities.
