In 1987 I joined a national firm of Business Transfer Agents in Leeds as a Valuer/Negotiator and my duties involved valuing mainly retail businesses as going concerns. I commenced working with an associate company in 1990 and carried out valuations for bank lending purposes of various types of businesses, including healthcare, leisure and retail. I started working for a rival firm in 1992 as a business valuer and, whilst valuations of many different types of businesses were carried out, healthcare became my speciality. This work included the valuation and appraisal of nursing homes, residential care homes, private hospitals, supported living facilities, care villages and day nurseries.
I joined Colliers in June 2008 as a Director in the Healthcare Department. I specialise in the valuation and appraisal of healthcare properties from single asset to major corporate portfolio instructions.
