In what will be an unforgettable year, the continued interest from overseas investors in 2020 is testament to the value that is still to be found in UK commercial property.

In the first Property Snapshot for 2021, we highlight:

  • Cross border capital accounts for a record 50% share of all 2020 investment volumes

  • Record year for industrial take-up, almost record year for industrial investment

  • 50% drop in Central London office take-up in 2020, but headline rents hold steady

The commercial property market experienced the usual, although more modest than usual, end of year surge. We are hopeful that the economy and CRE market will bounce back strongly once lockdown and travel restrictions are eased in the coming months.
