Colliers International’s specialist Parks, Sports and Marinas team handled the sale.
Colliers International’s Parks, Sports and Marinas team has sold Erigmore Estate, a 20-acre 200-plot holiday resort in Birnam, Perthshire, on behalf of a private client, to Verdant Leisure.
Erigmore Estate, near Dunkeld, and just off the A9 caters for caravan, lodge, apartment and cottage holidays, and has leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool, spa and bar.
This sale boosts Verdant Leisure’s total footprint to ten sites across Scotland and North-East England. The deal to acquire Erigmore Estate, marks the sixth bolt-on since the company was backed by Palatine Private Equity in April 2016.
Richard Moss, Head of UK Parks Agency at Colliers International commented: “We are thrilled to have completed a successful sale to a growing force in the holiday parks sector in Verdant Leisure, who I have no doubt will take this business from strength to strength.
“Regardless of commerciality, the ethos and manner of the potential buyers is always highly important to sellers given the emotional investment and time park owners have put into such businesses and we are confident that the future of Erigmore is in safe hands.”
Graham Hodgson, Chief Executive of Verdant Leisure said: “This acquisition is a perfect choice for the Verdant Group in terms of the geographical location and the excellent quality of the park. Scotland is an area we know well, and this will be our seventh park located north of the Border.”
Verdant Leisure was advised by Gateley Legal and Burness Paull in the transaction.
The company now operates more than 3,000 pitches of privately owned lodges, holiday homes, holiday lettings and touring facilities.
