Tyn Cornel camp site sold by Colliers off of a guide price of £995,000


Trip Advisor’s number one campsite in Snowdonia, Tyn Cornel, has been sold by Colliers’ leading hotels agency team to new owners who intend to continue providing top class holidays in Wales. 

The 12-acre site featuring a total of 127 pitches across a touring park, a woodland camping field and a field beside the River Tryweryn has been owned and managed by Stuart Reid and Isabelle Turner for the last six years. The couple have invested heavily in the site which is based in Snowdonia National Park, but decided to sell to move closer to their families. They have sold the site to Stephen and Cathryn Johnson who will be taking on the site as their first leisure business and plans to expand the park’s assets in future years.

Stu said: “It is with some sadness that we say goodbye to Tyn Cornell, but we have such fond memories here, from when I stayed here as a teenager to purchasing it and investing in the site. It’s worth all the effort when we see how much people enjoy staying here and we’re confident that Stephen and Cathryn can continue providing that for our guests.” 

The site provides 4* accommodation, and is ideally located for customers seeking thrills and adventures walking, cycling and even kayaking as the site is located within half a mile of the White Water Centre. As well as the adventurous holidaymaker the site also appeals to those looking for a more refined camping experience, with two spacious bespoke glamping pods in a riverside setting, each with a double bed and two single beds, and two off-grid glamping tents with double beds, woodburning stoves and fire pits. 

Cathryn said: “We’re thrilled that we’ve been able to purchase Tyn Cornel, it’s such a great site already and we know how much people love camping there. We’re really looking forward to taking on this business and in time making it our own.”
