Colliers has appointed Nicholas Marsh, a director in EMEA Corporate Solutions, as new Chair of Colliers’ Charities Committee. Nicholas will be supported by Vice Chair, Cicely Hamdard, business development administrator and researcher in Colliers’ Rating department.
Colliers’ Charities Committee, which is made up of representatives from across the UK business, has set an objective for 2021 to raise an overall total of £50,000 from fundraising events and initiatives across the business. The Committee meets every month to discuss all aspects of charitable giving within the business and plays a key role in organising and executing local events and initiatives.
On his new role as Committee Chair, Nicholas Marsh, commented: “As a business, we are committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work. The Charities Committee encourages and coordinates our people in donating their time, resources and valuable contributions to support a diverse range of deserving charities. I look forward to taking on this new challenge and to be working alongside my fellow committee members to shape our valued charitable giving programme.”
“Our Charities Committee is united by a mission to raise the profile of our core value of doing what’s right as a business, encouraging our people to support charitable giving initiatives and directly participate in volunteering projects which contribute to the betterment of local communities,” said Tony Horrell, Colliers CEO for UK & Ireland. “The global pandemic has had a significant impact on the charitable sector but I have been inspired by the resilience and compassion our people showed last year to find creative and resourceful ways to give back and drive forward our charitable agenda. I’ve no doubt this will continue under Nicholas’s leadership in 2021, and would like to thank him and the wider committee members who give their valuable time for such a good cause.”
