Colliers' National Capital Markets team has published its latest Foreign Investment Map which highlights the capital flows into the UK from various countries across the world and into which asset classes.
In 2020, cross border capital accounted for a record 50% share of all investment volumes and Colliers is confident that the economy and commercial real estate will bounce back strongly once lockdown and travel restrictions are eased.
The map shows;
- There has been an influx of investors from Singapore, focusing heavily on London and the South East.
- German investors were the main buyers in three English regions.
- For the UK overall, US investors were the most acquisitive, spending a total of £9.3 billion in 2020.
