Colliers’ Build to Rent team has sold a development opportunity in Sheffield to Grainger on behalf of Hallam Student Investments.

The site, located on Summerfield Street, is in close proximity to the city centre and Sheffield Hallam University and already has planning consent, which will be amended to deliver approximately 250 build to rent apartments as part of Phase 2 of Grainger’s successful Brook Place scheme. The scheme, which opened in 2019, provides studio, one bed and two bedroom homes for rent and amenities including a residents’ lounge, gym, co-working space and roof gardens.

Vijay Patel from Hallam Student Investments said: “We have seen how well Grainger’s first development performed and have worked closely with the local authority and Colliers to find a workable solution for the rest of the site. We’re pleased with Grainger’s continued confidence in Sheffield in taking this development forward.”

Erica D’Souza, associate director in the Build to Rent team at Colliers, said: “Sheffield is one of the most vibrant and active cities in the Northern Powerhouse. This development highlights the continued appetite for good quality rental homes with professional management and exceptional service.”
