Nine-mile route challenged rowers to get from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat East.
Colliers, the global real estate advisory company, has raised over £4,000 for local Bristol charity, St Peter’s Hospice in its inaugural Canoe Challenge.
Having taken place on Wednesday 5 October, the route took a group of 74 rowers, split into teams, along the River Wye from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat on a winding nine-mile route through some of the best scenery in the UK. After the race the teams got together to celebrate their achievement over a BBQ and drinks at The Royal Lodge Hotel.
Jo Edwards, head of Colliers Bristol and who organised the event, commented: “We really wanted to push people with our newest charity challenge and who can refuse the lure of a day in the Wye Valley. St Peter’s Hospice is a fantastic cause, and we couldn’t be prouder to be able to donate over £4,000 to support the valuable care they provide.”
Katie Versaci, Head of Community nursing at St Peter’s Hospice added: “On behalf of everyone at St Peter’s Hospice, we’d like to thank everyone who took part in the Colliers Canoe Challenge for their support. As Bristol’s only adult hospice we rely on essential fundraising events like this to provide care to people with life limiting illnesses whilst also helping their families. Thank you to Colliers for organising this event and to all the teams for taking part.”
