Colliers International up for two Investors in People Awards

15 09 20 Colliers International up for two Investors in People Awards hero

Colliers International has been shortlisted for two Investors In People Awards in the categories of ‘Diversity & Inclusion’ and ‘Health & Wellbeing (500+)’.

The shortlist marks a significant milestone for Colliers International as it continues on its journey to build a diverse and balanced business - through its ‘Balance in Business’ programme – which is centred around an ethos that speaks to all people.

“It is no secret that the real estate industry has more to do to create a truly diverse and inclusive place in which to work,” said Lydia Ings, HR Director at Colliers International. “At Colliers, we have been working hard to encourage a step-change in the way our people think, act, and behave and we are proud of the distance we have travelled over the past 12 months.

“It is also fantastic to see our work in Health and Wellbeing recognised – an area of work that became even more pertinent in recent months as we adapted to support our people through lockdown. I have always encouraged our people to bring their whole selves to work; believing that we can only be the best version of ourselves when we are able to be ourselves – whether that is who we are or how we are feeling.

"Over the last 12 months, we have seen a shift in the willingness from our people to be frank about their feelings and experiences and to educate others and this is a testament to the year of activities and initiatives we have put in place to make Colliers a more receptive, compassionate and open organisation.”

The global real estate advisor is one of only three businesses shortlisted in the ‘Diversity & Inclusion’ category, sitting alongside Genuine Solutions Group and The Guinness Partnership. Meanwhile, Colliers is one of nine 500+ shortlisted companies in the ‘Health & Wellbeing’ category – and is the only commercial property advisors in the list.

Tony Horrell, CEO of Colliers International, UK & Ireland, added: “Being shortlisted for these awards is a great achievement and valuable recognition of the work we have done so far. We are committed to furthering our work in this area to build a more diverse and inclusive real estate industry that is truly reflective of the society and communities we work in.”

The winners will be announced at a virtual awards ceremony on 24 November 2020.

Continuing its drive to attract the most diverse talent into the business, Colliers has also been awarded the accolade of ‘Top Employer’ in the Real Estate & Property industry for the second year running at The School Leavers Awards. All About School Leavers is a careers website designed to help school leavers get jobs and understand the career paths available to them.
