Alistair Johnstone joins from Knight Frank, as co-head alongside Martyn Munford

Colliers has recruited specialist valuations advisor Alistair Johnstone, to co-head its Central London Valuations team.

Alistair has more than 20 years’ experience and is well known in the market, advising REITS, private investors and banks. He joins from Knight Frank where he was a partner and prior to that he worked at CBRE, in London and San Francisco. Alistair’s skillset and experience in flexible offices, complex projects and discounted cash flow valuations will bolster Colliers’ capabilities in these important and topical areas.

Sara Duncan, Head of Valuation & Advisory Services at Colliers said: “Our Valuations business has expanded significantly in recent years, particularly in central London. We are thrilled that Alistair is joining Martyn to co-lead the team. They will work closely with our transactional colleagues and our residential valuation team to offer a holistic service to investors, developers and lenders.“ 

Alistair said: “This is an interesting time to be a valuer, and those that are on top of the market will shine. I am very excited to be joining forces with Martyn to drive market share and growing the central London offering at Colliers.”

Colliers has valued more than £10billion of transactions within central London over the past five years for acquisition, financial reporting and loan security purposes. Martyn joined Colliers in 2018 to establish the City Valuation team and has developed strong relationships with both domestic and international clients.

Martyn added: “Our clients’ needs are changing with broadening interests across London, and I am excited to be working with Alistair to continue to grow our client base leveraging off of our collective experience and the wider Colliers business.”

Sara has lived and worked in continental Europe and has expertise across all asset classes in European markets.   Shis is a Felllow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) and a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).  Sara is a member of the Colliers EMEA ESG SteerCo and a member of the CIVAS Global Valuation  Board.

Martyn Munford

Co-Head of Central London Valuations

Martyn is the Co-Head of Central London Valuations. Martyn joined  Colliers in 2018 to set up the City Valuation  team having joined from CBRE.

Martyn provides valuation advice for a variety of purposes including Secured lending, valuations for Accounts and Financial Statements, acquisition and disposal.

He has over 20 years valuation experience and has a detailed knowledge and understanding of the central London markets.

The team value a high proportion of transaction volumns each year for either loan security or acqusition purposes.

I'm a communications professional who has previously worked as a journalist for eight years covering a broad range of topics including politics, crime, health and housing in north London. In recent years I have worked in corporate communications for local authorities across London  and joined Colliers in October 2019, initially providing maternity leave cover.

I provide strategic public relations advice to various business lines within the UK organisation to secure recognition for their work in the property press as well as key target media, and work with our experts to produce thought leadership pieces which are of interest to our clients and colleagues within the commercial real estate sector. In addition, alongside colleagues in the PR and wider communications team, I provide media and social media training for our in-house experts to prepare them for media opportunities and raise their personal brand within the sector.

As well as supporting various teams within the UK business, I also I curate and edit regular content for the blog, which drives credible business leads to our experts.
