A former courthouse in the heart of the Bedfordshire town of Luton will soon be home to new residents after being transformed into 118 stylish, modern, one and two bedroom apartments.
Colliers International is selling the properties at The Old Courthouse, in Alma Street, which is being developed by LEOS International. The starting price for the apartments is £185,000 and the first new owners will be able to move in by the end of the year. Help to Buy is available for first time buyers as well.
Ben Coleman, development director at LEOS, said: “We have given this former courthouse a new lease of life with the creation of a stylish residential development conveniently located close to the town’s day and night time economy as well as transport links into central London. The Old Courthouse is an ideal location to set up home.”
Situated in the heart of the town The Old Courthouse is close to night clubs and live music venues, as well as high street chain restaurants and local independent eateries. Luton train station is a five-minute walk away, with trains running to Kings Cross St Pancras in just over half an hour. The campus of the University of Bedfordshire is also located close by.
Each property is being fitted with a contemporary kitchen and modern accessories including oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine and tumble dryer in one. The bathrooms include a walk-in shower, feature wall tiling, demisting mirror and LED lighting.
Matthew Moloney, head of new homes at Colliers International, added: “Luton is a great area to purchase a property. The Old Courthouse is ideally located for those who want to live in the hustle and bustle of a town centre and also want easy access to the capital, without paying London property prices.
“The development will be finished to a high standard, providing all the modern appliances and accessories anyone could want.”
Colliers International is acting as joint agents with Montfort Estates on the development.
