Wagamama delivery kitchen acquisition strategy continues as restaurant industry continues to adapt to COVID-19 landscape

Wagamama has opened its fifth delivery kitchen site with the launch of premises at Zennor Trade Park in Balham – the latest opening marks the continuation of the Asian-inspired restaurant chain’s growth strategy to focus on the acquisition of ‘delivery only’ sites across the UK. 


The Balham site joins three other Wagamama delivery kitchen locations in Greater London with one additional site outside of London. Colliers International has been retained by Wagamama to advise on the ongoing acquisition and expansion strategy. 

Georgia Pirbhai from Colliers International’s Industrial & Logistics team, who is advising Wagamama on the acquisition search, said: “We are focussing our search on areas where there is a high proportion of target customers but who aren’t in the catchment area for delivery from the brand’s established restaurant estate. 

“We have already identified and launched locations in strategic sites across Greater London, with the latest Balham premises bolstering our coverage in that area. Meanwhile, Wagamama has a kitchen at Penraevon Industrial Estate in Leeds and our 2021 acquisition strategy will continue to seek sites in Greater London as well as focussing on other regional towns and cities where there is demand yet little access for customers to obtain deliveries from existing restaurant sites in the region.”
