Who would have thought at the beginning of this year that a pandemic would be on the horizon, that would change the way in which we live and work?
There have of course been both challenges and opportunities in our personal and business lives since March 2020 but we are confident that park businesses and the parks market as a whole will weather the storm.
The resilience of the market was reaffirmed to us very early on in the initial lockdown as we continued to agree and complete sales of both operational businesses and development sites throughout the UK, despite the turbulent back drop.
Although we cannot see into the future and the storm is by no means over, with the latest nationwide lockdown (and 5 tiered system in Scotland) being a disappointing blow to our industry, the strong fundamentals of the UK parks market continue to make it attractive to investors and developers, as well as to lifestyle buyers.
We have seen an increase in enquiries from potential purchasers as the ‘new normal’ resulting from COVID-19 has created a new focus upon the sector.
Of course, high level investors are mindful of trading conditions over the coming years given the fall out of the continued pandemic, but it is clear that UK holiday parks are a hugely attractive asset class, particularly comparatively, with what is likely to be a growing demand for the end product. We anticipate a very competitive marketplace over the next 12 months and would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to confidentially discuss your individual requirements.
