Colliers International has sold the lease for Langan’s Brasserie to a group of HNW individuals on behalf of Coq D’or Restaurant Co Limited.

The brand rights, including the renowned Langan’s Brasserie name, were sold alongside the lease of the former celebrity hotspot, which was once co-owned by Irish entrepreneur Peter Langan, the actor Michael Caine, and chef Richard Shepherd. It was the first time the lease on the restaurant in Stratton Street, Mayfair, had been available since it opened in 1976.

Ross Kirton, Head of UK Leisure Agency, at Colliers International acted on the transaction. He said: “Despite the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic, there was strong demand for the property from a range of national and international operators. The sale includes the rights to the Langan’s Brasserie name and will continue the restaurant’s association with its celebrity past and exclusive dining reputation.”

The restaurant, which is to undergo extensive refurbishment, will reopen in 2021 under the direction of restaurateurs Graziano Arricale and James Hitchen. Arricale was formerly operations director at Richard Caring’s Birley Clubs, and now heads up the food and beverage operating team responsible for the Chucs Restaurant & Cafe Collection; whilst Hitchen is former CEO of Manchester based East Coast Concepts.
