Percy Wood Golf & Country Park sold to Harrison Leisure UK in £16m deal

Acting on behalf of Shorewood Leisure Group, Colliers International has completed the sale of award winning Percy Wood Golf & Country Park in Morpeth, Northumberland, to Harrison Leisure UK, for a deal worth in excess of £16 million.
 
Set amongst almost 180 acres of beautiful natural woodland, Percy Wood is one of the North East’s premier holiday destinations.  The resort has circa. 500 holiday home pitches, includes a highly regarded 18-hole golf course and has planning consent for further development in the future.
 
Set in the picturesque village of Swarland in Morpeth, with views across the Simonside hills, the resort is home to some of Northumberland’s most elusive wildlife including the red squirrel, pheasants and roe deer and has previously been presented with the prestigious David Bellamy Gold Conservation award. 
 
Commenting on the deal, Head of UK Parks Agency for Colliers International, Richard Moss, said: “The demand for quality parks of this size and trading capability remains very high. The deal was brokered in a discreet fashion between two experienced and respected park operators and it was no surprise that Percy Wood Golf & Country Park fitted the ambitious growth plans of Harrison Leisure UK.”
