An intrepid team of 13, comprising directors from global real estate advisor, Colliers International and some brave clients, have completed an “Arch to Arc” 24-hour cycle challenge from Marble Arch, London, to Arc de Triomphe, Paris.
James Watson, Head of Retail Capital Markets at Colliers International, commented: “A few of us had previously completed the ride on a more leisurely basis over a number of days and we thought it would be fun to spice it up a bit. Fortunately, we managed to persuade some like-minded clients to join us and it was a lot of fun.”
The cyclists set off from Marble Arch, London, at 3.30pm on Thursday 31 May and arrived at 3.28pm the next day, covering a total of 300km.
The first leg of the challenge was a 100km cycle directly south from Marble Arch to Newhaven, where the team then boarded an overnight ferry. Arriving at Dieppe at 5am the following morning, they then continued cycling further south, covering the final 200km of the journey and arriving at the final destination, Arc de Triomphe with only minutes to spare after a delay caused by an unscheduled meeting between client and agent just outside Paris which resulted in a buckled wheel and some impressive grazing.
Colliers International participants included:
James Watson, Head of Retail Capital Markets at Colliers International
Andrew Marshall, Director, Retail Capital Markets at Colliers International
Giles Roberts, Director, Retail Capital Markets at Colliers International
Toby Nicholson, Head of Build-to-Rent at Colliers International
