Avanton acquires £45 million British Land site

The site is located on Manor Road in Richmond and currently comprises a low-rise retail store occupied by Homebase, Pets at Home and Pets4Vets. Avanton, in a joint venture with ICG-Longbow, proposes to transform the site into a mixed-use, residentially-led development.
Omer Weinberger, Managing Partner, Avanton, said: “Richmond is a fantastic borough in which to grow our portfolio. Avanton is a company that listens to market demand, and with this latest addition we will be continuing with our commitment to delivering a high-quality mix of private and affordable homes to meet London’s needs.”

Adam Hayner, Managing Director, ICG-Longbow, said: “We are pleased to continue to grow our existing relationship with Avanton. Richmond will be an exciting project with the potential to develop skilfully designed housing in a borough with a strong domestic demand base.”

Andrew White, Director, Residential, Colliers International, said: “This is another important strategic purchase by Avanton in one of South West London’s most popular locations.

“The site is currently underutilised, however Avanton’s proposals will not only bring a much needed depth to the fabric of the area, but will also greatly enhance the current residential offering.”
