Colliers has been instructed by Selco Builders Warehouse, one of the UK’s leading and fastest growing builders’ merchants, to acquire 20-40,000 sq ft of prominent industrial and retail warehouse units throughout the UK as the business continues to expand its national footprint.
Selco Builders Warehouse currently has 73 branches within its portfolio, totalling over two million sq ft of space, with its latest branch now open in Exeter (April 2022).
The company is now seeking to obtain an additional 20,000 to 30,000 sq ft of industrial buildings in Greater London and 25,000 to 40,000 sq ft or two-four-acre sites across England, Scotland and Wales which are suitable for conversion; retail warehouses; development sites; trade centres and car showrooms, ideally with good local transport links.
Akhtar Alibhai, director of Industrial and Logistics at Colliers commented: “Colliers has been working with Selco Builders Warehouse since 2013, facilitating its ongoing acquisition programme for new branch openings, which has contributed to double-digit percentage revenue growth for the business over the last few years. The company has really gone from strength to strength, offering the convenience of a local one-stop-shop for customers’ trade needs and we look forward to acquiring further new units on behalf of the business.”
Hitesh Chauhan, head of acquisitions and estates at Selco Builders Warehouse said: “We are thrilled with the support that Colliers has provided to date. There is a significant opportunity over the coming years to continue the expansion of the network. With the support of Colliers, we have already had a strong start to 2022 and continue to look for new potential opportunities in Greater London and across the wider UK.”
