Top-rated West Coast of Scotland holiday destination, Lagnakeil Highland Lodges, has been sold, following the decision of its current owners to retire. The decision by Colin and Jo Mossman to step back from the business, sees experienced hospitality sector members Paul and Lauren Thomson take over the 5.7-acre site, which is set in the hillside of Lerags Glen, three miles south of Oban.

Marketed with a guide price of £1.25m, selling agent Colliers International confirmed that Lagnakeil Highland Lodges, had attracted significant interest.

The holder of a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, Lagnakeil has an excellent trading track record and benefits from a high level of sustained UK and European demand for short stay holidays. The park's 17 self-contained lodges offer one to three bedroom accommodation, alongside a detached house for the business owners.

Richard Moss, Head of Parks Agency at Colliers International, said: “Lagnakeil is an outstanding property, which will provide Mr and Mrs Thomson with a solid business from which to trade in a beautiful location and an ideal base from which to explore the West Highlands and Islands. We received strong interest from a range of parties, including leisure companies, entrepreneurs and families – who were no doubt interested due to the impressive trading performance and outlook.”
