Central Edinburgh hotel sold
Owners of Newington's Allison House Hotel step back after 20 years
A central Edinburgh hotel has changed hands in a deal that will allow the sellers to retire after more than 20 years running the business.
Edinburgh’s Allison House Hotel in Newington has been sold by commercial property firm Colliers International for close to the asking price of around £850,000, acting on behalf of David and Anne Marie Hinnrichs. The new owners of the property have moved from Newcastle to take over and operate the business.
Forming part of a listed Victorian Terrace, the Allison House has 11 letting bedrooms, as well as a dining room and extensive private accommodation for resident owners. It has long been established as a private hotel although more recently it has operated purely on a bed and breakfast basis.
Alistair Letham, a director in the UK hotels agency team at Colliers International, said: “Its proximity to Edinburgh city centre meant the Allison House attracted considerable interest from buyers. Its spacious private flat also makes it ideal for its new resident proprietors.”
The purchase price was not disclosed but selling agents Colliers International confirmed that the Allison House Hotel, 17 Mayfield Gardens, Edinburgh, EH9 2AX was sold for close to the asking price of 'offers around' £850,000.
