Australian designer porcelain retailer, Mud, is opening its first UK shop in the heart of London’s West End.

Its debut store will be at 11 Porchester Place which is part of the Church Commissioners’ Connaught Village – a hub of independent retailers, award-winning restaurants, sophisticated galleries and leading designers north of Hyde Park.

Sara Law of Colliers International – who advised on the letting – commented: “Mud produces an exquisite range of ceramics and is a fantastic offer to bring into Connaught Village.

“The letting is in line with our strategy of bringing increasingly high quality retailers into what is already an eclectic mix.”

Mud Australia was founded in 1994. Its porcelain range, designed by Shelley Simpson, combines handmade processes, clean lines, colour palette and functionality. The end result is a product that “neatly intersects a minimalist aesthetic with an artisan finish”. Its Porchester Place store is currently being fitted out and is scheduled to open before the spring.

Mud was advised on the acquisition by 56Street. Colliers International acted for the Church Commissioners and are retail letting agents for the Connaught Village.
