Colliers International Surveyor, David Chatten has been recognised as a rising star in the surveying world at the inaugural RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year  Awards 2014.

In its first year, the RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards celebrates young talent across the surveying profession in categories ranging from commercial and residential property to planning and facilities management and public sector specialisms. 

David Chatten, a surveyor in Colliers International’s Birmingham Investment Property Management (IPM) team was awarded winner of the Property Management category at the prestigious award ceremony which took place on Friday 14th November at London’s Marriott Grosvenor Hotel. David was recognised by the judges for his exceptional work, carrying out tenant liaison and property maintenance work, stating: “his enthusiasm, professionalism and creativity earned him the recognition he richly deserves.”

Joining Colliers as a graduate surveyor in 2012, David was partly based on site at Minerva Works in Warwick Bar, promoting landlord and tenant relationships and undertaking property maintenance, whilst also being based in the Colliers International offices at Brindleyplace managing other property portfolios to gain further professional experience. Now qualified, David supports the IPM team in Birmingham, advising national clients on the management of retail parks. 

On the award, Martyn Edwards, Director of Colliers International’s Investment Property Management team in Birmingham said: “David is undoubtedly a credit to the team and this has been demonstrated in his proactive approach to property management. We would like to congratulate him on this fantastic achievement.”
