Overbury completes Colliers office refurbishment
Property News - Colliers’s Birmingham team returns to Level 12 Eleven Brindleyplace following extensive refurbishment programme
Colliers International has moved into its newly refurbished space at Eleven Brindleyplace, following an extensive refurbishment, carried out by office fit out specialists, Overbury.
Following 12 weeks in temporary office accommodation, the 100-strong Birmingham office has relocated back up to Level 12 of Eleven Brindleyplace. The refurbishment was spurred on by periods of continued growth, where the team grew from 64 to 100 in five years. As a result Colliers’s existing space in Eleven Brindleyplace needed to be re-evaluated to meet the team’s evolving needs.
Working closely with Overbury, the 12th floor has been re-worked to provide 110 work-stations, varying from flexible bench style desking to a centralised touchdown and expansion space for visiting staff. New kitchen facilities have also been installed which double up as collaboration and team meeting space.
The client areas have also undergone a refurbishment with a range of meeting rooms being designed with fully integrated technology solutions. The meeting rooms have been located at the edge of the floor plate of Level 12, allowing clients and visitors to look out across the Birmingham cityscape. An airy and spacious reception area has been designed to greet staff and guests with crisp furniture suites and booth seating for informal meetings.
On the new space, David Smeeton, Head of the Birmingham office of Colliers International, said: "It’s been an interesting time for the team over the last 12 weeks, as we’ve been working extremely closely together (even more than usual!) in our temporary accommodation, but we can see it’s all been worth it, as we settle in to our newly refurbished space this week."
“The office has been designed with flexibility in mind while also making the most of the stunning views across the city. By using a mix of desking styles, we hope to encourage our 110-strong office to interact with each other in a less formal way, using the varied and interesting spaces across the office to share knowledge and experiences - which can then be passed on to our clients."
“The space looks fantastic and we can’t wait to welcome our clients to our new look offices very soon.”
Joe Huddleston, senior project designer at Overbury, added: “I’m thrilled with how the scheme came together in terms of key feature pieces within the interior as well as great views toward the city from meeting rooms and workspace alike. A final success was how Colliers embraced the design ideas and took ownership, tailoring the design for their precise needs and aspirations for the future.”
