Managed pub company, Nectar Taverns, which operates 25 wet-led freehouses in the North West, has been sold to Hawthorn Leisure through global property advisers Colliers International. The terms of the deals were undisclosed.

Hawthorn Leisure, a new pub company formed in 2013 to provide capital investment and management support for pubs across the UK, already owns a diverse range of over 350 pubs including local and traditional community pubs to country inns and high-street operations.

James Shorthouse, Head of Licensed and Leisure at Colliers International, who brokered the deal on behalf of Nectar Taverns said, “The sale attracted interest from a wide range of parties which led to a competitive bidding process. This resulted in a very successful outcome for Nectar, whose 25 pubs have seen steadily growing sales over a number of years. The company’s professional management team has proven that well-run, properly invested community pubs are a key part of the future of the UK licensed sector.”
