Greater Manchester’s status as the leading regional centre of legal excellence has been further confirmed by expanding law firm Leigh Day Solicitors leasing office space in a deal brokered by real estate advisors Colliers International and AKM Property Consultants.
The legal practice specialising in personal injury, employment and human rights has taken a 5,326 sq ft office on a 10-year lease in part of the 37,436 sq ft Unit C at Central Park in New East Manchester at £16.60 per sq ft. Fujitsu are the landlord.
Rupert Barron, director and head of the tenant advisory team at the Manchester office of real estate advisors Colliers International, said: “Leigh Day Solicitors is a successful law firm that planned to take a smaller amount of space at Unit C to accommodate its growth plans thanks to a burgeoning case load but found itself expanding ahead of expectations and in need of larger office facilities.
“The firm’s growth and the planned opening of an office in Manchester by international law firm Nabarro helps to cement the city’s status as the centre of legal excellence outside of London with a dynamic legal sector.”
Colliers International advised Fujitsu whilst Adam Robson of AKM Property Consultants advised Leigh Day.
Colliers International previously secured a 10-year sub-lease on the entire 16,859 sq ft second floor of Unit C at Central Park for a European shared service centre for McBride plc, Europe's leading provider of private label household and personal care products.
