Cotswolds hotels ace Peter Brunt from Colliers International has sold the Banbury House Hotel off an asking price of £2.6m for the freehold.
The Best Western-branded Banbury House Hotel, which boasts 64 stylish bedrooms, is well located in a particularly affluent area generating year-round trade.
Peter Brunt said the opening of the M40 in 1990 had expanded the hotel’s business role making Banbury a key town on the London to Birmingham axis.
“Many businesses are attracted to the town because of its position close to the M40 but also from weekend and leisure trade. Banbury is an attractive and interesting destination in its own right but also serves as a wonderful base to tour the surrounding countryside including the north eastern Cotswolds.”
The West Country hospitality sector has reported an unprecedented surge in business as would-be owners scour the region for new business opportunities.
“Properties being offered range from commercial hotels like Banbury House to ountry pubs and boutique hotels across the West.
“We have a good balanced market at the moment with good numbers of buyers for all types of business.”
“As always, location plays a massive part in influencing prices and sales prospects.”
