The North West office of real estate advisors Colliers International has been appointed as lead agent on the £150m tourism, retail and leisure scheme to transform the site of the former Cains Brewery in Liverpool.
Colliers International and fellow commercial property agents GVA will market the proposed one million sq ft Cains Brewery Village Liverpool development to interested parties including potential developers and end-users.
The £150m scheme obtained outline planning consent in November 2013 and was approved by the Secretary of State in January. The North West office of Colliers International has been advising on the scheme since 2012 and acted as commercial and destination advisor during the planning process.
The appointment of Colliers International has two purposes: to seek a possible development partner and secure end users for various proposed uses that include a 42,000 sq ft food store, a 94-room hotel, bars and restaurants and a four-screen cinema. There is also outline planning permission for 725 residential units on land to the rear.
Andy Delaney, director of development consulting and agency at the North West office of Colliers International in Manchester, said: “We are delighted to continue our involvement in this exciting mixed-use regeneration opportunity on the southern edge of Liverpool City Centre.
“Brewery Village sits within a fast evolving regeneration area. Its proximity to Liverpool One and the Waterfront, coupled with the high profile of the site and the landmark nature of the buildings make this a highly attractive development opportunity. We have had an encouraging level of interest already and we anticipate that this will increase further as economic recovery gathers pace.”
