Colliers International was hailed Professional Agency of the Year at last night’s annual Property Week Awards for its exceptional services in Rating.
At the event hosted by comedian Bill Bailey, Colliers International’s Rating team was celebrated for its dramatic growth, and unique ‘Complete Circle of Rating Advice’, which comprises three very different but inter-connected elements to ensure clients’ business rates are mitigated from every angle: rating valuation, rate account management and compliance and audit - Accurates.
The judges were impressed by Colliers’ work with The Cooperative Group, saving the company in excess of £12 million, as well as work with ASDA’s logistics portfolio, and glut of successes with its unique Accurates business including a refund achieved for the NEC group of £2 million in cash refunds.
Colliers International’s Rating team won a raft of new instructions in the last year including work from Tesco, Musgrave (Londis and Budgens), JD Sports, Morrisons, Ikea, Honda Europe and Ford Motor Company.
The Rating team has grown considerably in the past year to 70 people, with departments expanding in Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.
John Webber, Head of Rating at Colliers International, said, “We have continued to innovate and develop new ideas that help save clients’ money and we are a leading voice in the industry. The Colliers International Rating department has experienced another remarkable year and this is no coincidence as 2012 was the eighth successive year of growth in turnover; profit and headcount.”
