The Yewdale Hotel at Coniston in the Lake District has been sold from an asking price of £99,500 by the specialist hotels team of real estate advisors Colliers International.
The hotel with eight en-suite bedrooms, a bar and restaurant has been acquired by Jeff and Susan Hart, who are moving to Coniston from Lancaster, from Peter and Beverley Kelly, who are retiring after operating the business since 2004.
Mr and Mrs Hart are new to the licensed trade but have experience in resort and hotel management and in running a property business in Portugal.
Haydn Spedding, associate director hotels in the North West office of Colliers International in Manchester acted on behalf of Mr and Mrs Kelly.
He said: “The ongoing popularity of such hotels in the Lake District was proven by two potential purchasers expressing an interest in acquiring the lease within a few weeks of us being instructed.”
