Edmundson Electrical, the leading distributor of electrical equipment to trade and industry in the UK, has relocated a branch of its Electric Center business to new premises on Trafford Park, Manchester.

The business, founded in 1801 by Joshua Edmundson and with more than 250 locations nationwide including a service centre at Knutsford, Cheshire, has let the 6,818 sq ft Unit 1A at Ashburton Park on a ten-year lease at a rent of £6 per sq ft.

Edmundson – which acquired the Electric Center electrical wholesale business from building and plumbing merchant Wolseley in July 2011 – moved the branch from Westbrook Park on Trafford Park.

Andy Backhouse, associate director industrial and logistics at the Manchester office of real estate advisors Colliers International, secured the letting on behalf of CBRE Global Investors with joint agent Davies Harrison.

Mr Backhouse said: “Edmundson wanted to relocate Electric Center to Ashburton Park because they regard it as the premier location on Trafford Park.”

Trafford Park is the North West’s prime industrial location and home to major occupiers including Kelloggs, TDG and Wincanton.
